How Much Do Google Ads Cost in Ireland?

MarketingAI3 min read

There's no fixed price for Google Ads. You set your own budget and pay each time someone clicks your ad. What a click costs depends on how many other businesses want the same search. Here's how it works in Ireland, with real numbers.

What a click costs in Ireland

Google Ads is an auction. The more advertisers bidding on a search, the more each click costs. These are average cost-per-click figures for Irish searches from our own keyword research (DataForSEO, October 2026, reported in US dollars):

Irish search Average cost per click (USD)
"b2b marketing agency" $33.53
"social media management company" $27.30
"seo agency dublin" $25.52
"website design dublin" $17.44
"google ads cost" $12.64
"web design near me" $4.85
"marketing agency near me" $3.70

Two things stand out. Specific, high-value services cost the most per click. And "near me" searches can be surprisingly cheap, even though the people typing them are often ready to buy.

How much should you spend on Google Ads?

Work backwards from what a customer is worth:

  1. What is a new customer worth to you? For example, €400 of profit.
  2. How many enquiries become customers? For example, 1 in 4.
  3. How many clicks become enquiries? A decent landing page might convert 1 in 10.

In this example you need 40 clicks per customer. At €3 a click that's €120 per €400 customer, which is a good deal. At €25 a click it's €1,000, so you'd need to fix your landing page or target cheaper searches first.

Start with a monthly budget you can sustain for at least two or three months, so Google has enough data to learn from.

What Google Ads management costs

On top of your ad spend, someone has to set up and run the account. In Ireland that's usually a monthly management fee, a percentage of ad spend, or both. Our prices:

  • Insight: €750 one-off. AI connected to your Google Ads, showing where money is being wasted and how to improve.
  • Build: €1,200 one-off. AI drafts full campaigns, ad groups and keywords to spec; you review and go live.
  • Managed: €500 a month plus 10% of ad spend. We run the account for you.

Your ad spend is always paid directly to Google, not to us. See our Google Ads management page or the full pricing page.

Where Irish businesses waste money on Google Ads

  • Broad keywords without negatives. You pay for searches that have nothing to do with what you sell.
  • No location limits. Your ads show to people outside the areas you serve.
  • No conversion tracking. Nobody can tell which ads bring customers.
  • Sending clicks to the home page. A dedicated landing page usually converts far better. We build those too, see our web design page.

Google Ads or SEO?

Google Ads brings traffic the day you switch it on, and stops when you stop paying. SEO takes months to build but keeps working. Most Irish small businesses do best with both: ads for leads now, SEO so the cost per lead falls over time. If you're weighing it up, read how much SEO costs in Ireland.

Google Ads cost FAQs

What's the minimum budget for Google Ads? Google has no minimum. In practice you need enough budget for a meaningful number of clicks each month at your keywords' cost per click.

Why are some clicks so expensive? Because the customers are valuable. When one client is worth thousands to an agency or a solicitor, they'll pay $20 to $30 or more per click.

Can I run Google Ads myself? Yes. The risk is wasted spend while you learn. Our Insight package connects AI to your own account to point out the waste, so you can run it yourself with confidence.
